Psilocybe Cubensis - all in one Mexican Grow Kit

This kit was developed in order to obtain a high yield (150-200 gram) of Magic Shrooms in a short growing period (1 – 3 weeks). Follow these instructions and using the grow kit should be easy;

Start using the kit as soon as you receive it, or put it in the refridgerator tu ensure maximum shelve life (see packaging). Use a receptacle like a bucket, aquarium, battery glass or other water tight box in which the grow kit can stand stable on the bottom. Fill it with about 2 or 3 centimeters (1 inch) of tap water. Remove the rubber band and carefully open the lid of the grow kit.

Put it carefully on the bottom of the bucket. Make sure no water gets inside or on the surface of the grow kit. If it starts floating, there is too much water in the bucket. Close the top of the bucket with some transparent plastic foil but leave a small area (about 5 % of the surface) open. The mushrooms need a little fresh air.

Put the bucket in a room with some natural light (no direct sun light) and keep the temperature 20 C and 28 C. Try not to let the temperature drop too much during night time. A constant temperature of 24 C is ideal and results in the biggest yield. Never use a heating device in the bucket as this can quickly cause overheating or dehydration.

Don’t open the foil between times to get a quick peep. This will increase the chance of drying out and infection with bacteria or a mould. The first week, the grow kit will appear to be dead. During this time, the fungal threads produce growth hormone and little nods (the first stadium of the mushroom) are formed. During the second or third week, the mushrooms will shoot up out of the soil. These mushrooms have fluffy sterns up to a height of about 1 cm. This is not an infection caused by another fungus.

The best time to harvest is when the majority of the mushrooms have opened their caps to form a horizontal disc. If the caps have started to darken or turn black or if the caps curl up, the mushrooms should be harvested immediately (they can still be eaten).

Take the Grow Kit out of the bucket to harvest the mushrooms. All mushrooms (also the younger ones) are harvested by gripping them as a bundle (3 to 6 mushrooms) and pulling them out gently with a twisting motion. Keep the bundle in your hand and remove the “roots” and vermiculite (gold colored grains) with a potato peeler. This vermiculite is a kind of puffed stone and is not harmful when eaten. All mushrooms should be removed in this way.

If the mushroom sterns are black with a sticky powder, it is caused by spores that have fallen out of the caps. This can be eaten as well. The mushrooms can be eaten fresh or the can be dried on a piece of paper. When they are spread out evenly and are lying in a heated room, they are dry in about 1 or 2 weeks.

Because these Grow Kits are developed to produce all mushrooms in one flush, the breeding ground will most likely exhausted. Sometimes, however, it will be possible to obtain a small second crop by putting the kit back into the bucket (and covering it with foil). As soon as a mould has attacked the kit, or when the Kit starts to smell rotten, it should be discarded immediately.
